Christmas Lights… December 17, 2006

Our eldest little boy has just been woken from a peaceful sleep to go on an adventure with his Daddy!

Looking at Christmas Lights!

At first there was a look of confusion on Matty’s sleepy face, then as he slowly understood what was about to happen a huge smile appeared and was still there as we strapped him into the car. What a special time.

Ian and I decided that each year he will take the boys looking at Christmas lights (as it gets dark a few hours after they are asleep, we put Matty to bed as normal then surprised him). There are some really creative displays around here and I know that they will have a wonderful time!

I will always remember how excited and amazed I was to see the beautiful lights and hopefully Matty (and Jesse when he is old enough) will feel the same. I love our boys so much, and although this is a simple thing to do, I hope they will remember it with great joy when they are older.

Yesterday my sister-in-law, Amanda, was married to Russell “Ray” Adams. The man she has been in love with since the day after they met each other over six years ago in high school. We are all so happy for them.

More than one person shed tears as Amanda, a beautiful woman who loves the Lord, was joined in marriage to Ray, a man who is also focused on Jesus. With a message that was all about love, the sacrificial kind, and songs that just praised the Lord the service was very special. Amanda even joined in leading the singing with her sister and one of the other bridesmaids.

It was a great day, despite all of us bridesmaids turning purple because of the cold on Sunset Rock 🙂 So Amanda if you are reading this, thank you so much for giving me the honour of being one of your bridesmaids. Ian and I are really happy for you both.
