Found this in the drafts…no idea what it was for. August 21, 2008

Everybody knows. Well we all think we know, but we don’t really understand. Not really. You see those things, those tests, were introduced so fast. Of course you would want to know. How could you stand not having a clue? It doesn’t hurt. No side effects they said. Who is they anyway? No side effects. Well I suppose that you could say that. You would be wrong. Curiosity killed the cat. We know what will kill us.
At first there were long waits, appointments made months in advance, just for a little prick. A drop of blood. Then you would have it. We all thought knowing would be better. Help us become better people. Then the wait got shorter, more convenient testing locations arose and soon all it took was a couple of minutes that would change the way we lived our lives. We act on impulse now, the filling in of time with the routine and mundane no longer the norm. tick tock tick tock tick tock….it will stop I know. One day. This day? Please this day.
Laughter fills the crowded room. Clink of glass. Flirty flicks of long, shining well groomed hair. Secret smiles. Smoke haze. Suggestive notes rise and fall from the saxaphone. Gold bands deep in pockets and lying at the bottom of small unobtrusive bags. Manicured nails brush across broad shoulders and knees. A suggestion. An idea. An impulse.
Sunday morning and yet more empty pews. Our quavering voices rise in praise to our creator, our Lord. We ask forgiveness for our sins. We listen intently to our long serving minister as he pleads, tears in his eyes to hold firm. Stay strong. Of course we all think in our heads, we will not go. Each week. We are not God.
So I found this in the drafts, I have no idea why I wrote it. It must have been for a particular purpose but I can’t think why. Anyway thought I would post it although it is unfinished. Its kind of strange.

Today was a bit if a day. One of those days where I will be glad to crawl into bed tonight.
Nothing particularly bad happened, I am just really really tired. Ians sister came over this arvo which was really good, the boys enjoy seeing her and it was nice to chat and catch up a bit.
Mattys preschool has become “pen pals” with a preschool in Scotland and so today all the kids drew a picture to send to another child at the Scotland preschool. It is a nice idea and gets the kids thinking about different places in the world. Matty drew a wombat in orange and red texta and wrote his name. The Scottish preschool has sent a teddy with a kilt for the kids here.
I went to playgroup with Jesse today. It is Jesse’s second time going and he is getting alot braver. He had a nice time. He is desperate to be able to ride the bikes with the big boys, but his little legs are not quite long enough yet. He played a bit with his little friend L and then L met another one of our friends kids, so Jesse followed them around. He had a great time on the slide and building things.
Aravis is a bit grumpy as she had her shots the other day, had an x-ray yesterday and her sleep is all messed up. Still get smiles though and even some giggles this afternoon.
I didn’t really feel up to going out today. I just wanted to stay at home. I am still not sure that I should have gone out now that I have a whingy baby, but it was nice to see some people.
I am looking forwards to being at home tomorrow and catching up on the things I have let slip.

It has been a very very very long time since I last wrote here.
Why did I stop? Mainly that I felt like I didn’t have time to write and that it wasn’t that good, but you Ian asked me to write something again so here I go.
Matty is now 4, Jesse 2 and we have a beautiful little girl, Aravis who is 6 mths old now.
As I write Matty and Aravis are asleep, Jesse is watching Vege Tales and i have a small moment to myself.
Matty is loving Preschool, he goes to two different ones. He is a very bright little boy. He wants to be an astronout when he grows up, and I think that he might just have a chance at that if he tries. He told me just this morning that he is going to be really good at maths so that he can go into space in a REAL spaceship and take me with him. What is weird is that he might just do that (not take me with him, but get into space). He loves his daddy and his little brother and sister. He tries so hard to be the responsible big brother, I hope he wont worry too much and remember that we are the parents, not him.
Jesse is still a crazy boy. I don’t think a day goes by that he doesn’t get some new bruise or cut. At the moment he has three scratches on his face, a bruise on his ear and a bruise on his back. I only know where two of these injuries came from and as far as I can tell the rest are just from his crazy antics. They don’t bother him and if he actually cries when something happens then you know that he has really hurt himself. He is staring to talk well now and has become pretty good at puzzels. He copies Matty a lot. He loves to sing and dance and everything is one big joke to him. He loves life and I am sure that whatever he grows up to be he will still get as much fun and joy out of each day as he does now.
Aravis is our beautiful girl. She is a happy little baby. She has just started solid food, although she is not to keen on it. Her daddy is the one who always gets the most laughs and smiles, her brothers come a close second. She watches everything and you can see her little mind taking it all in. Its kind of scary that she will be learning alot from Jesse, I hope she learns to laugh a lot like him and not so much of the injuries.
Ian is in a new job now, I think he likes it.
I am loving being a mum, even though it can be frustrating at times. I am so thankful for my wonderful family, especially my very patient husband.
I will try and write more frequently, just for you Ian.
